Historical Notes on Mothia
Here was discovered in 1979 the marble statue known as the Young Man of Mozia, currently preserved in the museum. In the "Kest" area, among the debris of various kinds that characterize the upper levels, a protoeolic capital (with both decorated bas-reliefs with a stylized lotus flower) came to light. In the eastern part of the "K est" area is what appears to be a second industrial complex: a building with two environments in one of which was found beneath the collapse of the roofs a rectangular stone tub with burnt-down remains and several slags metal, perhaps referring to a metal processing plant.
